ZPMC is executing two major contracts with Hutchison Port Holdings for STS crane heightening projects
The Rotterdam based ZPMC Crane Upgrades team responsible for crane upgrades and refurbishment in Europe, has announced two major STS crane heightening projects for its client Hutchison Ports.
The first of the projects is at the Port of Felixstowe, where 5 STS quayside cranes are being heightened by 9.25 meters and a further 5 increased by 5.25 meters later this year. The project, which commenced in July 2017, includes the relocation of the cranes to a temporary construction site, the electrical upgrade and installation of a new spreader cable reel system and various automation and mechanical improvements.
The second project, at the BEST terminal in Barcelona, will see 3 STS cranes have their capacity increased by 5 meters in height. The heightening procedure of the cranes has been designed to speed up turnaround, ensuring that operational downtime is kept to a minimum.
ZPMC’s European senior management team for Crane Upgrades business consists of Eelco de Lange, Oscar Ehrlich and Maarten Mol, all of whom have extensive experience in the industry and have been responsible for the development and coordination of crane upgrade projects in Europe.
Outside of Europe, ZPMC Crane Upgrades has also gained various crane heightening projects in China, Dubai UAE, Tanger Morocco, Hong Kong and in the Port of Los Angeles, USA. It’s an exciting time for the business, which is well placed to service international clients, wherever they are located.
