..whilst JA gets an injection of new equipment
Jebel Ali Port has begun the commissioning of the worlds largest quayside gantry cranes.
Issued in July, the bonds are in S$250,000 (US$151,000) denominations. Three-year bonds will bear interest at the six-month Singapore dollar swap offer rate less 0.06% per annum, and 10-year bonds will earn 2.83% interest per annum, both payable semi-annually.
These initial 10 super postPanamax tandem-lift cranes are part of an order of 16-18 worth US$240m placed last year by DPA. The balance of the order is expected to be delivered early next year. The cranes are being placed on the port’s 900m-long quay that has 17m of alongside draught – sufficient to handle ships of up to 12,000 TEUs.
Outreach on the cranes is sufficient to cope with 25 rows of stowed onboard containers.
