The Port of Valencia, Spain reports loaded containers for export falling by 12.72 per cent in the period January – April 2022 compared to the same period last year and loaded imports rising by 6.96 per cent. Total container volume was 1,702,236TEU, down 7.99 per cent. The port authority reports that the dip in export traffi c and increase in imports mirrors experience in other cargo sectors with the Ukraine war, the increase in energy costs and shortage of raw materials all negatively impacting export activity.
