Ashdod technology investment
Ashdod Port in Israel is investing NIS4.5 million (€1.28 million) in four start-ups operating within the port’s technology incubator.
Established in 2021 as part of the port’s innovation strategy, the incubator has nurtured more than 60 start-ups in various fields including operations, logistics, cyber protection and safety.
“We congratulate the start-ups chosen and see this as a significant opportunity for the advancement of technologies in the maritime field, in Israel and around the world,” said Roee Avrahami, director of the Innovation Domain at the Port of Ashdod.
The four start-ups were chosen following a six-month pilot programme during which their technologies were put to use within the port.
The companies chosen are Spinframe which has developed smart automatic photography systems to detect damage to motor vehicles during unloading, Enwize with its virtual reality training programmes, and Cyber 2.0 and Cyberview which have both worked to develop technologies to manage and reduce the risks of cybercrime.
“The Ashdod Port Company views investment in technological entrepreneurship as a strategic move, with the aim of continuing to lead the field of innovation in the domain of the Port and maritime traffic, both in order to improve our competitive and technological ability and in order to meet to the global challenges faced by the ports of the entire world,” said the chair of the port’s Board of Directors, Orna Hozman Bechor.
