A significant increase in thenumber of accidents threatening assets and environment has led to anincreasing demand for the training of ship and shore personnel in thesame exercise, says VTS (vessel traffic system) and VTS simulatorspecialist Transas.

The St Petersburg company has responded to this in a project that has combined its VTS simulation and crisis management system in a single virtual environment.

“This project creates an integrated education tool for observation of the traffic situation and the elimination of calamities, providing the possibility to cover the whole range of accident and post-accident tasks simultaneously,” says a spokeswoman for Transas.
