Partial approval has been given to a proposal by India Gateway Terminal for an increase in charges at Kochi. An 8% increase in the scale of rates at the port, which was handed over earlier this year to Dubai Ports International, has been allowed by India’s Tariff Authority. Port users have warned that the decision may cause cargo diversion to other ports.
