Unions protest Nigerian privatisation plans

Nigerian dock workers unions have issued an ultimatum to the government to withdraw plans to privatise port operations and management or face a series of strikes by stevedores. They claim that earlier attempts at injecting private sector know-how resulted in monumental losses to both the National Ports Authority (NPA) and the nation as a whole.
