SCCT opts for GTS
Global Transportation Solutions (GTS) is to implement its Terminal Operations Productivity Solution (TOPS) at the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT), the 600,000 sq metre, 2.6 million TEU capacity APMT/ECT venture.
Kristiansand needed to be sure that the fendering would be suitable for the catamaran as well as the much larger ferries.
The 1,200 metre quay terminal will operate with 12 super post-Panamax cranes, 36 RTGs and on-dock rail capabilities. Operations begin in October.
TOPS will provide a full suite of terminal management capabilities, including operations optimisation, yard management, vessel management, berth management, crane allocation, container handling equipment management, gates management, user security and access controls, reporting, and interface to financial systems, radio data terminals and GPS systems. TOPS differentiates itself from other terminal systems by allowing multiple planners to work on the same vessel, yard or train.
