UAE cements maritime ties with Iraq

There has been a boom in sea trade between the United Arab Emirates and Iraq in the post-Saddam era, mostly using traditional dhows plying between Dubai Creek and ports such as Umm Qasr and Abul Folous. Around 300 dhows carry cargoes such as tyres, clothes, rice, pulses, edible oils, electronics, refrigerators, air conditioners and electrical appliances, while return cargoes consist of mostly Iraqi wool and dates.
