GFS 2014 keynote address confirmed
The keynote address for this year’s Gas Fuelled Ships Conference (GFS) will be given by Jaroslaw Kotowski of the European Commission Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) and will focus on ‘Encouraging LNG as a bunkering solution in Europe – Infrastructure’.
Run by Mercator Media Ltd, the conference is now in its fifth year and is the longest running small-scale LNG conference. Taking place from 25 to 27 November 2014 in Stavanger, Norway, it will combine a two-day informative and knowledge-based conference with technical visits, giving delegates access to operations of current LNG vessels and supply plants as well as networking opportunities at the conference dinner.
This year, the conference will be chaired on one day by Lars Robert Pedersen, deputy secretary general, BIMCO, and on day two by Martin L Shaw, managing director of MOAMS Ltd.
A comprehensive programme will look at new LNG design and retrofitting, conversion to gas as a fuel, LNG from an operator’s perspective, challenges of using natural gas as a fuel and future expectations.
Case studies from GE Marine, Lloyds Register, Skangass and Rolls-Royce will also be presented, while round-table discussions on LNG pricing strategies for the future and supply and availability will also take place.
Delegates will has the chance to network at the conference dinner and attend two technical visits to the Risavika terminal to watch live ship-to-shore bunkering of MS Stavangerfjord and the Skangass LNG production terminal.
