Cargotec has won its first commercial contract: an order from US-based security company Lockheed Martin for a spreader-mounted radiation detection system.
The system is to be installed and tested at a US east coast port during 2009 and will be part of the company's security portfolio.
Cargotec is confident that other orders will follow in the wake of the new US security initiative to scan all containers coming into US ports by 2012, as the system does not compromise throughput speed, and has a measured accuracy of 100%.
