Konecranes of Finland, a leading manufacturer of grab gantry un loaders, reports that it is currently delivering two such machines to the Danish power company Dong Energy that will feature the most advanced noise reduction system that has ever been installed on this type of crane.
Meanwhile Vigan Engineering of Belgium has significantly lowered the noise output of its pneumatic ship un loaders. In one notable recent installation the suction pipes were muffled by an external special covering to deaden the noise of grain passing through the pipes at the rated capacity of 200t/h. The main machinery room was located inside an adjacent plant building to reduce noise levels. These measures proved so effective that the un loader is allowed to operate in close proximity to a residential house.
