Biofuel barge boosts Barcelona

Marine energy supplier, Peninsular, has added an IMO II biofuel tanker to its fleet of fuel distribution barges in the western Mediterranean

The Aalborg is capable of supplying 100% B100, unlike traditional fuel barges that can not exceed 25% bio component.

The vessel supplies fatty acid methyl esters produced from vegetable oils and will play a pivotal role in the Port of Barcelona’s commitment to decarbonisation.
