Toulon unveils major shore power upgrade

The Port of Toulon has successfully launched France’s largest port electrification project, delivering shore power for cruise ships and ferries.

Led by ABB, in collaboration with Eiffage Construction and Fauché, the project enables the port to simultaneously supply energy to three ferries or one cruise vessel. This groundbreaking installation integrates energy storage, renewable sources like solar power and a smart grid to ensure efficient, low-emission operations.
