Ulsan executes landmark ammonia bunkering

The 45K-class ammonia dual-fuel gas carrier at the quayside

Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) has marked a major milestone in its journey towards expanded alternative fuel provision with the first ammonia port-to-ship bunkering operation for a commercial vessel.

The operation carried out at Pier 2 of Ulsan Main Port, saw Lotte Fine Chemical supply around 600 tonnes of clean ammonia from the quayside to a 45K-class ammonia dual-fuel gas carrier built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
