Cavotec has enabled Europe’s first car carrier shore power connection in Bremerhaven, advancing the port’s drive towards electrification and reduced emissions during vessel berthing operations.

The milestone saw the 200-metre pure car and truck carrier Lake Shirasagi connect to shore power at the German port, with Cavotec supplying and commissioning a PowerReceive system to make the vessel shore power ready.
