Valenciaport has been chosen to host the next annual European GreenPort Cruise & Congress conference in October 2018.

The Port Authority of Valencia, which brings together senior port executives to discuss and share the latest in sustainable development and environmental practice, will host the conference from 17 to 19 October.

Mediterranean hub

Valenciaport is Spain’s leading Mediterranean port in terms of commercial traffic and is a cruicial gateway for production and consumer goods to and from the entire Iberian Peninsula.

It also offers extensive network connections to major world ports including America and North Africa.

This year, the four-day conference will cover a range of themes including air quality, energy consumption, carbon footprint and community relations.

Session formats will include interactive presentations, discussion panels, case studies and networking opportunities, concluding with an exclusive tour of the Port of Valencia on the 19 October.

Over the past decade, the Congress has been held in a variety of European locations including Hamburg, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Venice and Amsterdam and has become an increasingly international event with delegates from more than 30 countries attending.

In May of 2018, the conference will also launch in the Americas, further expanding the GreenPort Congress platform globally.
