The court ruled that, with the arrival of Cosco, there was little risk of dockers losing their jobs. As a result, it has banned all similar action.
In October, dockworkers went on strike for two weeks, causing a huge backlog of freight to build up. Another strike commenced in early November, but had to be called off.
At the same time, the new political administration in charge in Athens is trying to find ways of improving the 35-year concession contract to give it more favourable terms.
The Greek government has also said there is no way the contract would be terminated, given the strategic value to the country of its relations with China.
