Under a project valued at around ¢12.5m ($18.4m), Kongsberg’s C-Scope VTIS will supply AIS, CCTV, RDF and GMDSS with multiple interfaces to enable interoperability.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore had a need for a 24 hour VTIS that would give clear and unambiguous information for the multitude of craft transiting the very narrow (1.5nm) Singapore Strait.
The entire system will be set up at a new control centre in Changi.
