While negotiations have made significant progress in some ports, leading to the transfer of operations to new private companies, agitation continues in other sectors.

At Marseilles, in November workers continued to protest against reforms to the petroleum handling market, effectively shutting large areas of the port down, despite the fact that workers involved in similar activities and other ports have returned to work.
