Redesigned to meet the latest emissions regulations, the larger models in the Hyster Big Truck range utilise Cummins QSL9 diesel engines to bring together cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) with an improved High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel system and an integrated particulate filter. In addition Hyster has introduced cooling on demand, load sensing hydraulics, RPM management and alternate engine idle speed to help further reduce the total fuel consumption across the board. Operators can also select either an ECO-eLo “fuel efficiency” or HiP “high performance” mode.
The new machines can achieve a typical savings of approximately 9,000 litres of fuel annually – that is the equivalent of a full fuel tanker over three years on one machine.
The rest of the range of Hyster 25-32 tonne heavy duty forklift trucks and dedicated container handlers has also been re-engineered, giving fuel and emissions reductions of up to 15%.
