GreenPort Congress programme released

The programme has just been released for this years GreenPort Congress taking place from 3-5 October 2012 and hosted by the Marseille Fos Port Authority.

The GreenPort Congress aims to provide decision makers with a meeting place to both learn about and discuss the latest in sustainable environmental practice that will enable them to effectively implement change.

The emphasis of the Congress will be on highlighting innovation in equipment and technology whilst illustrating practical solutions through case studies.

The programme will include the following sessions:

• Port – Ship Interface: how do ship emissions influence ports? Reducing the impact of emissions and discharges from ships
• Green Terminals: Innovative solutions for terminals. What is the role of the port authority?
• Launch of the ESPO Green Guide
• Port – City Interface
• Green Logistics Chain: New Ports projects and the Logistic chain. How do you integrate a new state of the art port project and connect it to the European transport scheme?
• Ports – Ongoing Environmental Projects

As well as the European Commissioner for the Environment, speakers will also include: CMA Ships, Port of Marseille, Port of Amsterdam, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Antwerp, Mitchell Ports, Port of Santa Marta, Port of Marseille Fos, Port of Stockholm, Groningen Sea Ports, Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque, CMA CGM, MSC and Port of New York and New Jersey.

The full programme is now available to view online. An early bird delegate rate is available online until 30 July 2012. The cost includes the welcome reception, the Congress, the Gala dinner and a place on the port tour of Marseille Fos Ports on the last day.
