This year, the nomination categories include terminal operations optimisation; vessel performance and capacity optimisation; innovation; customer/community impact; collaboration across the container flow; and learning and development.

“Through the Inspire Awards we aim to highlight the true trailblazers in ocean shipping. The awards always attract a multitude of very competitive nominations – underlying the strength of the global shipping community and its high caliber leaders,” said Bruce Jacquemard, chief customer officer at Navis.

What’s being assessed?

The Navis individual achievement award has been established to recognise outstanding customers who have made a significant contribution in their company to drive the industry forward.

Entrants in the terminal operations optimisation category will be assessed to see how operations have been improved and optimised at terminals, while the vessel performance and capacity optimisation category will address how vessel performance has been improved and optimised and how capacity has been optimised.

The innovation category will look at how entrants have made an exceptional effort to implement new technologies and/or processes connected with Navis software.

For the customer/community impact category, entrants will have to demonstrate what value has been delivered which has led to a significant increase in customer satisfaction and increasing customer retention, or how they have positively impacted their local or regional community through site operations.

The collaboration across the container flow category will evaluate how entrants have improved operational performance through better collaboration and transparency across the ocean supply chain. The Learning and development category will look at growing workforce capabilities, skills and competencies for competitive advantage, managing change and training, learning and developmental resources used to achieve goals.

All submissions must be received by 31 December 2018. The winners will be revealed at Navis World 2019, from 25-28 March 2019.
