In a regional workshop, Michel Audigé, World Bank lead transport specialist in the Infrastructure and Energy Services Department singled out investments in ICTSI’s Suape Container Terminal (SCT) in Brazil, Madagascar International Container Terminal (MICT) and Poland’s Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) for the accolades.
Mr Audigé noted that at both SCT and BCT ICTSI’s multimillion dollar investments in container handling equipment had produced growth in throughput.Proof of its success comes in the second quarter figures which reveal a 12% rise innet income over second quarter 2006 to Philippine pesos 535m ($11.5m).
At its homeport in Manila, ICTSI is also making waves with the introduction of the first twin-lift spreaders to be installed in the Philippines. The company purchased three units of Bromma STR40 twin lifts spreaders.
