Strong performance by Gaussin

Global handing solutions provider, Gaussin Manugistique, achieved a strong turnover in its half year accounts – €16.9m up by 170% on the same period last year.

Winning performance: Gaussin has been boosted by the volume of terminal tractors ordered by DP World

The strong performance was helped along by the sales of automotive terminal tractors (ATTs) and docking stations to Pelindo (Indonesia), APM TANGER (subsidiary of A.P.MOLLER-MAERSK group in Morocco) and F.S.H. (Germany). But it has also been greatly boosted by the volume of terminal tractors ordered by port operator DP World.

Gaussin has recently received another order with DP World for 127 terminal tractors bound for the operator’s UAE terminals cementing a long standing relationship between the two.

DP World has already purchased over 900 Gaussin 904 terminal tractors for its flagship operation Jebel Ali in Dubai, Jeddah, Dakar, Sokhna and others on the back of the first prototype tested at Jebel Ali six years ago.

The order book for the second half of 2014 is bulging too at €33.460 up by 20% on last year. Gaussin said that it has 40 electric ATTs and 40 Power Pack electrics on order for Akansel, a Turkish logistics and port operator worth a value of more than €15m.

It also has 19 ATT-V4s and 19 power Packs on with FSH, a German distributor, worth €4.2m and 30 ATT-V4s and 30 power Pack hybrids on order for Consorzio Asterix for a five year lease five-year lease worth €7.6m.
