Dock workers at Mr Lisin’s Tuapse and St Petersburg ports have been locked in strikes over a salary dispute since last year. Up to 1,800 workers from three stevedoring companies in St Petersburg walked out in support of the demand at the end of last year.
In Tuapse, in late 2007 striking dock workers effectively paralysed operations at the Russian port of Tuapse for three days, with dockers eventually ordered back to work following a court ruling.
Dock workers in Tuapse were seeking pay hikes of 20%, while those in St Petersburg were looking for a 30% increase.
