Anesco’s final proposals were rejected on June 21, leaving trade unions to insist on strikes continuing only in those terminals where full employment rights have not been guaranteed.
Support for the strikes was above 90%, but it fell to just 28% as individual agreements were struck.
Among the terminals that have returned to normal are APM Terminals and TTIA (Algeciras); APMT, Grimaldi, Autoterminal, Best, Balearia, Coma i Riba, Ergransa, Hijos de José María Masiques, Sammer and Setram (Barcelona); OPCSA-MSC and La Luz-Boluda (Las Palmas); and Noatum, MSA, APMT, VTE, Trasmediterránea and Grimaldi (Valencia).
Strikes continue to disrupt operations at ports in northern Spain. In Bilbao, no agreement has been reached with Bergé, Noatum, Toro y Betolaza and Servicios Logísticos Portuarios (SLP).
At Santander, the unions are in discussions with five terminal operators working there.
However, while the strike continued in Avilés, Gijón has returned to normal.
In the meantime, terminal operators Alvargonzález, Bergé and Algeposa have quit Anesco, having reportedly lost confidence in its ability to deliver any kind of agreement.
