The project has been selected for funding of over E14m under the 2012 TEN-T Annual Programme in appreciation of its importance to the wider ‘Nordic Triangle’ project, itself a TEN-T Priority Project.
The Värtahamnen project concerns the redevelopment of Stockholm’s inner city port facilities in the Värta-Frihamnen area and targets the expansion of Värta Pier to create “an efficient, modern and environmentally-friendly facility” for passengers and freight.
These works will not only benefit the Port of Stockholm, but will also eliminate “one of the most serious bottlenecks” to the TEN-T’s Nordic Triangle project.
