The service will entail independent southbound sailings directly between Los Angeles and Australia/New Zealand, westbound services from New Zealand to Australia and export services from both New Zealand and Australia to Hong Kong/South China and North America.
Major New Zealand retail chain The Warehouse has also recently signed a deal which is expected to push Axis’ 16-hectare Wiri Inland port well over its current capacity of 200,000 teu per annum.
