Busan Port Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies have developed new technology to help prevent containers in storage stacks being blown over in strong winds. The system employs intelligent close-circuit television (CCTV) and lidar sensors to shoot corner castings adjacent to containers in upper and lower stowage locations, before then applying artifi cial intelligence learning techniques to classify the status as “normal” (green), “dangerous” (yellow) and “very risky” (red).
