2026 Topics:

GreenPort Congress will take plce 7-9th October 2026 in partnership with Portsmouth International Port. This year’s theme is Water Quality.

  • Theme 1: Water Quality Policy, Regulation & Compliance - KEYNOTE PANEL
    • Submissions should focus on how ports are responding to evolving environmental regulation in practice.
  • Theme 2: Monitoring, Measurement & Environmental Intelligence
    • How ports understand what is happening in their waters — and how that insight is used.
  • Theme 3: Pollution, Sediment & Risk Management
    • Practical approaches to managing environmental risk in busy port environments.
  • Theme 4: Climate Resilience, Water Scarcity & Adaptation
    • Broadening the environmental discussion beyond compliance to long‑term resilience and natural restoration projects.
  • Theme 5: Port Infrastructure, Terminals & Sustainable Operations
    • A core GreenPort topic, refocused on delivery, efficiency and long‑term value.
  • Theme 6: Energy, Electrification & Net Zero Delivery in Ports
    • Moving the energy discussion towards implementation and integration.
  • Theme 7: Ports of the Future – Collaboration & System Integration
    • A forward‑looking but grounded theme focused on how the port ecosystem works together with science based targets and reporting.

Submissions 

Abstracts should be approximately 250 – 300 words and submissions should include a biography and headshot photo of the speaker. Application case studies between ports and suppliers are of high priority and will be given precedence.

GreenPort Congress is specifically organised to bring together the full range of port professionals and stakeholders involved in environmental management including environmental managers and planners, harbour masters, logistics managers, energy managers as well as sustainability and corporate social responsibility executives from ports, terminal operators, shipping lines, shippers, and logistics companies.   

This 20th event in the series will again concentrate on practicable solutions to address legislative and policy requirements.  GreenPort Congress delivers knowledge sharing through collaboration to address environmental targets and sustainable development.
