Danish Maritime Days green focus

More than 30 events will take place to address some of the main challenges and opportunities that the global maritime industry is facing, including a focus on a green strategy.

Safety, security and the development in the world economy are some other topics that will also be discussed when the maritime stake holders meet at Danish Maritime Days.

Michael Sosted, head of secretariat and Danish Maritime Days, said: “Danish Maritime Days 2016 will reflect the great changes that the global maritime industry is undergoing.”

He added: “This includes everything from the industry’s ambition to reduce CO2 emissions to the slowdown in world trade.”

It is an open platform and organisations are invited to plan independent events as part of the week.

Mr Sosted expects that more events will be added to those already included on the calendar before new entries close on 1 September.

He continued: “Danish Maritime is a great opportunity for organisations to put the industry’s global challenges and opportunities on the agenda.”

“We hope that many discussions will help create a positive change to the benefit of the industry and human wellbeing.”
