Hapag-Lloyd in the Red Q1
While the German-carrier’s revenues reached €1.4bill, 16.5% up year on year, it reported a loss €22.1 million.
Hapag said the rise in revenue was due to increased freight rates which were some 10% higher than Q1 2010. The company added that the loss was largely due to increased fuel costs and more competition.
