Danish shipping company obtains high ranking in Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
NORDEN, a Danish shipping company has been ranked 7th in the 2012 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.
With a score of 90 points versus 82 in 2011, NORDEN became the only shipping company in the NORDIC Top 10, which counts companies from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
NORDEN improved significantly in the independent British non-profit organisation latest assessment of climate change disclosure practises. The index is a key component of the annual report from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) aiming to drive greenhouse gas emissions reduction and sustainable water use by business and cities.
Since 2008, NORDEN has been reporting in detail to CDP on its efforts regarding climate change. With CDP as a communicator, NORDEN puts its environmental reporting at the free and unlimited disposal of more than 655 institutional investors worldwide who are backed by total funds of more than $78,000 billion and who use CDP as a source when assessing companies with investment potential. Around 3,000 companies from approximately 60 countries report to CDP. In 2011, NORDEN was ranked 17th in the Index.
