Envisan wins eco award
Environmental subsidiary of Jan De Nul, Envisan, has won an eco innovation award at the Belgian trade fair ECOnext recently.
Exhibitors at the trade fair were offered the chance to highlight examples of eco innovation during a special competition designed to showcase the latest innovations in the industry to visitors.
Envisan won first prize for its state of the art installation for the treatment of sludge, oil and water, which is in operation at Pitesti in Romania. The equipment was built and is operated by Envisan.
Out of the 13 applicants, four finalists were selected, and the projects were assessed on degree of eco innovation, reduction of environmental impact applicability and internalisation – for which Envisan came out on top.
The award was presented to Geert Ide, director, Envisan, by the Ingrid Lieten, Flemish Minister for Innovation, Public Investment, Media and Poverty Reduction.
Envisan specialises in the treatment, remediation and processing of sediments, soil, groundwater, waste and alternative materials.
It’s actively working with ports, harbours and waterways to help them achieve sustainable development – particularly during environmental dredging works, sediment treatment or redevelopment of contaminated brownfields.
