Bimco guides shipowners to compliance

The guidance series will start with the publication of a practical Step-by-Step Guide to Ballast Water Management written in association with Fathom.

The new industry resource will provide holistic practical guidance that will cover all aspects of BMW compliance.

In addition, it will outline the systems available to the market with specific information on the treatment technology and type approval status.

The release of the guide follows the recent approval of the resolution for the Convention at the 28^th session of the IMO Assembly.

BIMCO says it will serve to provide shipowners and operators with all the information needed to manage and approach regulatory demands with ease.

The new guide will be published at a crucial time for the shipping industry. It is just one element of a multi-platform information series designed to allow owners and operators to address any uncertainties they may have.

Set for release this month, the guide will be followed by a webinar in January 2014 that will look at the key issues and themes raised in the guide.

Following this will be a free shipowner summit that will take place from on 25 and 26 February 2014 in Hamburg to discuss strategies, solutions and issues.
