CSXIT orders Konecranes machines
CSX Intermodal Terminals (CSXIT) has taken delivery of eight new Konecranes machines, which add to their existing fleet of 16 machines from the lifting equipment company, and is set to see three new Konecranes machines delivered in December.
The August delivery to CSXIT, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the CSX corporation and one of the US’ biggest multimodal companies, comprised two SMV 52 GC3S railroad sideloaders, five SMV 4535 TC5 reachstacker trucks and one SMV 4543 TCX5 reachstacker.
The two railroad sideloaders, which are also known as trailer handling top-picks, have been altered in line with client specifications.
The new machines come with the new ELME 878 folding leg attachments, which can handle trailers from an extended 12-metre position.
December’s order is for another three SMV 4535 TCX5 reachstackers. This model is able to lift up to 45 tonnes, five containers high on the first row, and up to 25 tonnes, three rows deep.
Additionally, the reachstacker’s front support jacks can be deployed to increase stability, effectively raising the lift capacity on the second row to 44 tonnes and 30 tonnes on the third row.
