Biofuel now in 80 ports globally

The increase in capacity comes in response to new IMO regulations on greenhouse gas emissions alongside the CII, EU ETS and FuelEU directives.

Manja Ostertag, head of Biofuels, who is coordinating the global efforts to develop the supply of biofuels in key regions and ports, said that the company had been intensifying efforts to ensure availability. “Providing a relevant and competitive value proposition including low-carbon fuels is a crucial part of our New Fuels strategy and key to succeed as a business, given the upcoming IMO and EU regulations,” she said.

The company says it aims to provide tailored solutions for customers whose needs differ. This means a range of different types of lower carbon products as well as blends of biofuels and conventional fuels delivered not only to flow ports, such as ARA and Singapore, but also in numerous other ports.

Alongside biofuels and LNG, Bunker Holding is also preparing for the uptake of future fuels such as methanol and ammonia. With a service that also includes support in buying EU ETS allowances, the group is positioning itself as a one-stop-shop to clients.
