ADB bankrolls PNG port

PapuaNew Guineas most important port, Lae Port, is to receive a $100m loanfrom the Asian Development Bank to expand installations. A tidal basinwill be created, as will a new multipurpose berth.

The port, in the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port area, will cover 70,000 sq m with a single 300 metre long berth capable of handling ships of up to 50,000 tonnes.
