Automation in Taiwan
The first automated container terminal in Taiwan is hooking up with CATOS, a software solution for bringing together yard, tandem, and gate operations.
Total Soft Bank (TSB) is providing the maritime and port logistics software for Kao Ming Container Terminal’s semi-automated terminal consisting of four berths and equipped with 40 sets of ARMG (Automated Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane) and 12 gantry cranes. It is expected to handle at least 2m teu every year.
Yang Ming was awarded the build-operation-transfer contract with Kaohsiung Harbor Bureau to run an international container terminal for 50 years.
