ASHDOD STRIKES PUT OFF USERS

Despite having signed contract agreements to the contrary, employees at Israels port of Ashdod have come out on strike twice so far this year.

Work has already begun on the $24 million third phase programme; phase one cost $30 million and phase two $17 million.

The president of the country’s Manufacturers Association, Shraga Brosh, has warned he will recommend that members switch exports and imports to either Haifa or Eilat if an agreement between the trade unions and employers is not reached soon.
