Accolade for Newcastle boss
The man who led the team that re-floated the Pasha Bulker at Newcastle in Australia has been named the towns citizen of the year.
Gary Webb, who’s been chief executive of Newcastle Port Corporation since 2004, was given the award at the annual Australia Day Breakfast.
His role in the Pasha Bulk incident included keeping the world informed of the refloat operation while at the same time working to bring the coal terminal back to normality after operations had been severely hampered by the June floods.
He is also actively involved in the community through church activities.
