Babcock & Brown continues acquisitions spree
The Australian company Babcock & Brown Infrastructure has acquired a 43% stake in the Belgian Westerlund Group, which has offices in the ports of Antwerp, Rouen, Marseille, Tilbury and the Chinese city of Changshu.
Its most important concession is for an 88 hectare terminal at Antwerp, which it will operate for 50 years.
The company has also bought a 50% stake in Seehafen Rostock, which undertakes handling at the German port of the same name.
It is also to acquire 50% of the US company ICS Logistics Inc, which principally operates in the port of Jacksonville.
