BEIRUT MULLS BIDS

ICTSI, CMA CGM and International Maritime Associates of the US have been shortlisted for the 10-year contract to operate Beiruts $150m container terminal, three years after Dubai Ports Authority pulled out. The Lebanese government is expected to reach a decision this autumn.

Port of Rotterdam ceo Willem Scholten: “This an extremely important agreement. The expansion will give businesses the opportunity to grow in Rotterdam. Maasvlakte 2 will be an excellent location. Right on the sea, and with good hinterland connections.

Despite investment in STS quay cranes, the terminal has yet to be utilised.
