Gulftainer continues overseas expansion

United Arab Emirates-based terminal operator Gulftainer is currently negotiating with authorities in both Turkey and India with a view to assuming managerial responsibilities of maritime assets. Both container and general cargo traffic is reportedly being considered.

In Turkey, the focus of attention is on the Marmara region, where Gulftainer says it is on the verge of signing a joint-venture agreement with a local logistics and transport company. In India, the stevedore is cooperating with a construction and infrastructure development company, Lanco, with a view to exploring port and transport possibilities.

Gulftainer would very much like the contract to manage the port of Paradip port. However, possibilities are also being discussed in other ports, too.
