APM test bed for quad technology
APM Terminals is about to break new ground with Brommas delivery of its first production model of its quad-lift spreader.
Stockholm-based Bromma, is set to deliver its Tandem™ Quattro to APM’s Algeciras terminal in Spain. The crane spreader can lift four teu containers at a time, two feu containers at a time, or two forty-five foot containers at a time.
The spreader has a lifting capacity of 2 x 51 tonne, or 4 x 32.5 tonne and a weight of 24 tonne. The manufacturer claims it can also separate 20′ containers longitudinally between 0 and 1,6 metres at a speed of 100 mm in 10 seconds.
It also allows side shift on individual spreaders, useful for when the chassis or container on the ground is not fully lined up in the longitudinal direction.
