Dammam facing major congestion

Problems at Saudi Arabia”s Dammam port has prompted some shipping lines to threaten a boycott, transferring calls to other ports in the Gulf.

There are reports of some vessels having to wait nearly a month to be unloaded because of a combination of labour shortages and a boost in volume.

Additionally, legal action has been threatened against Saudi Railways Organisation, which has been accused of delaying container shipments from the port to Riyadh.
