DBCT investor merges with Brookfield
Australian utilities investor Prime Infrastructure, which owns 50.1% of Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, the world’s third-largest coal export facility, is to merge with co-owner Brookfield Infrastructure Partners of Canada.
The merger follows the rescue package put together last year when Prime, formerly known as Babcock & Brown Infrastructure, sold 49.9% of the coal terminal to Brookfield to solve a debt crisis. Under the merger proposal, Brookfield shareholders will swap 0.24 shares for every Prime share.
