Box seconds for Dar es Salaam
Tanzania Ports Authority has been ordered to find a competent investor to operate a second container terminal, which will end the current monopoly enjoyed by Tanzania International Container Terminal Services (TICTS).
The move is designed to improve handling efficiency at the port in order to boost imports. The government had previously toyed with the idea of cancelling TICTS’ concession due to numerous complaints regarding congestion.
