Aden to end agreement with DP World
Aden Port Authority has begun talks with DP World with a view to cancelling the contract it has for operating the port. The cancellation is to be done amicably, with an international arbitrator to be brought in if the two sides fail to reach an agreement.
Earlier, Yemen’s anti-corruption body said that DP World had failed to carry out agreed investment within an acceptable timescale.
Responding, DP World said that this was “misleading and unfounded”.
According to the agreement signed in 2008, DP World was to have invested $220m in development.
